DK Sivakumar offers to fly Mahayuti leaders to Karnataka to see success of schemes

Karnataka Deputy Chief Minister DK Sivakumar said on Saturday that he would arrange chartered flights and buses for the leaders of the Mahayuti alliance to visit the state and get first-hand information about the government’s guarantee schemes.
Addressing a press conference in the Pradesh Congress Committee office in Mumbai along with Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy and Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister Sukhvinder Sukhu, he said, “The BJP has carried out a disinformation campaign on Karnataka government’s guarantee schemes by issuing false advertisements in Maharashtra.”
“We are contemplating legal action against the parties which have launched a disinformation campaign. They are spreading lies about the Karnataka government which delivered on all its promises,” he said.
“The Mahayuti leaders can visit Karnataka anytime and see for themselves the success of our guarantee schemes. I will arrange chartered flights and buses on behalf of Karnataka Pradesh Congress Committee,” he added.
Sivakumar claimed that Karnataka’s GDP growth rate was 8.2 per cent before the implementation of the guarantee schemes, but it had now risen to 10.2 per cent.
“These are not my numbers, these are the numbers released by agencies of the Union government,” he said.
The Deputy Chief Minister also went on to allege the BJP of copying the Karnataka government’s guarantee schemes in other states.
“All BJP leaders, including Prime Minister Narendra Modi, ridiculed the five guarantee schemes of the Karnataka government when they were launched. Ironically, the same leaders are copying our schemes and are promising similar schemes in other states,” he said.
Sivakumar said that the guarantee schemes were announced after Leader of the Opposition Rahul Gandhi’s interaction with people during the Bharat Jodo Yatra.
“We announced 200 units of free power under Gruhajyothi, 10 kg of food grains under Anna Bhagya, Rs 2,000 for women heads of family per month under Gruhalakshmi, free bus travel under Shakthi and monthly allowance of up to Rs 3,000 per month for unemployed youth,” he added.
“The government is spending Rs 52,000 crore on these five schemes, and we are contemplating increasing it to Rs 56,000 crore. Karnataka is the land of Basavanna. We walk the talk,” he added.
